More sneak peeks!!

Of course I have a few more sneaks to share. I am getting so excited for the first of the month...even though I am definitely NOT ready for it to be November!! I am already missing throwing on my sundress and flip flops everyday. The only thing that I look forward to around this time of year is decorating for it! LOL. (Oh and gathering together with family and friends too!)
So here are a few of Amanda's sneaks. Jaime Warren's sneak peeks. And a peek at one of my projects too.
Here is another thing I whipped up today as I was playing with scraps from my kit. I cut leaf shapes from the fabric and ribbon in the kit and used my sewing machine to stitch them together to make a garland. This was so easy and fun and I think I'll be making more of these in the future!!

It was super hard to get a good shot of them all together...but I strung them over my chalk board that hangs in my kitchen. (It's a baking sheet...cool huh?) I bought it at an antique store years ago. And yes...because my business name is "Freehand Scraps" I have a small collection of hands. Including this one that holds my chalk.

Some were paper.
I like how they curled a bit...just like real leaves.

There you have it! Hope you all have a great night....and be sure to check back on November 1st for the reveal of "Gather" at 8:00 a.m. CST.

A Glimpse...

Of what is to come in your November kits!! Okay, maybe this qualifies as more than a "glimpse." LOL. But isn't this the cutest kit ever?? Love. Love. Love it.

These wonderful chipboard shaped clouds are by an Australian company called "Buzz & Bloom." This is the first time we've included their products in our kits...and you can't find these items at your LSS. I can't wait to show you what the DT came up with using them!
Oh and I guess you can see in the picture above that this kit includes not one but 2 alphabets. First is the darling glitter chipboard cherry alphabet by Pink Paislee and also the Mini Market Stickers by October Afternoon. You can get your hands on these goodies Nov. 1st at 8 a.m. CST!
And on a completely different note...do you ever feel like you spend half of your life at your computer?? That is what I am feeling like this week and so I am heading now to lock myself into my studio and create, create and then create some more! Wish me luck! Have a great night!

We have a super talented guest designer this month also...that I can't wait to introduce you to, Brandy Seitz!! She originally entered our Design Team call this summer. I contacted her (she was definitely a finalist!!) and asked if she would like to guest design for us...and we were lucky enough to have her design with "Gather" our upcoming November kit! I can't wait to show you what she came up with...but I can't spill the beans yet! How is every ones week going? This is a super busy week around here. I can't believe how many Halloween activities the kids have this year. 2 parties for Tanner...3 for Chloe...and when exactly are we going to carve pumpkins?? LOL! Hope you all have a great night! I'm hoping to post some sneaks of mine tomorrow. See you then!

Sneak Peek...

I cannot believe it's the 21st...and I haven't shared a sneak peek of Nov's kit!! Shame on me! Here's what you have to look forward to!! Love it!
I also have had this layout to share for over a week and finally just got it photographed. It doesn't have any photos...but lots of Tanner's art work. (These are his masterpieces from age 4.) I simply cut them out leaving a little white border (which almost acts as a frame) and layered them. It's a crazy page. But I like it.
This is the first layout that I've made with one 12x12 side (on the left) along with a 6x12 side (on the right.) It's fun to mix it up every once in a while.

Bazzill cardstock and KI Memories paper and stickers. I have had that sheet of stickers for a very long time!! Title stickers are by Making Memories.
I added some journaling around some of the cut out shapes. I also wrote directly on top of a Tim Hotlz "fragment" (which is the clear rectangle shape) using my slick writer. I need to break those out more often!
The chipboard #4 is Sassafras Lass from our July kit!

I am also working on Elizabeth Kartchner's class "Mysteries of Me" right now...and using this book to hide a mini-album inside. (Yes, it includes cutting the book...and LOTS of work.)
And last, I am going to have a great giveaway tomorrow for a 12x12 wrapped canvas! You won't want to miss it...I just got mine in the mail and am loving it!! More details to come! Have a great Thursday!

5!

Five years ago today...one of the greatest joys my life will ever hold...made her grand appearance. I am so grateful for the privilege of being her mom. She brings "life" to my life. She teaches me new things everyday. She makes me smile and giggle and to see the world through her eyes of wonder is a gift. It's impossible to be unhappy around this girl. She is a breath of fresh air. She is a treasure and I love her more than words could ever say! Happy Birthday sweet Chloe Saige!

On to the birthday pictures!!

It was a puppy birthday party...and would you look at this cake my sweet Mom made. Seriously...she is the cake master!! It was Tanner's idea to add the bone shaped cookie. I provided the vintage buttons and felt for his eyes and nose. She whipped this baby up in about a half and hour. Move over Martha! And speaking of Martha...we hung these cool tissue paper flowers (on clearance at WalMart...woo hoo) from the rafters.
The cake was decorated with my vintage collection of dogs. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.?.
And of course "dog bone" cookies. Which might have been a bigger hit than the cake with the kids.

We made a fun craft. (Martha Stewart again...puppies and kitty sack puppets.) They turned out super cute...especially the yorkies!
We have had my family in town this past week and have had SO much fun. The only hard part about them coming is when they leave. It was so sad to see them go! Hope you all had a great night!

She's Three...part two

Goodness gracious it's hard to find time to blog this week! So I finally am getting a chance to post the last pages of her "She's Three" album. (This cake was seriously cute!! My mom is a cake genius!) It fit perfectly with the luau theme.
I added journaling to the next page about the party events and who came.

I tried to keep it simple...as I had SO many photos...it is hard sometimes for me to narrow it down. But I'm always glad I did. (The alpha letters are Making Memories from their Christmas line...I just used the green ones!)

We had lots of fun being silly, which is what 3-year-olds know how to do the best!

I added the date 10.21.07 also. (Most of these numbers are Sassafras Lass from our July kit.)
I used my Heidi Swapp acrylic alpha stamps and the Love Elsie paper is one of my favorites!! The chipboard elephant and bird are Little Yellow Bicycle.
SO cute!
Aaaannnnd...I am proud to say that I stitched my own page protector to add to the album because I wanted to include the invitation. It was a first for me. I love when you can add things to albums with rings!

And I stamped the back cover to read "Love you baby girl." I love everything about this album...from the size to the patterned papers that were perfect for the theme of the party!
And now tomorrow we will be celebrating her 5th birthday! I know all mom's say it...but where does the time go? We were in full preparation mode around here this afternoon. We put together some darling Martha Stewart tissue flowers to hang from the ceiling and chandelier. Chloe helped to set the table...I think we're ready. LET'S HoPE So!

I'll post more pic's of the party and decorations...and hold my breath that it all goes smoothly! LOL. Have a great night!
