Friday...
We spent today in Chicago...what a beautiful city! If I didn't have 2 little kids and a dog, I would live smack downtown. There are so many things to do!! We ate lunch on the Chicago River and this afternoon headed to the Art Institute of Chicago where they had a free night! The kids got to make art projects and we saw some really cool exhibits. Next door was Millennium Park where they have a huge water place for the kids to play. We must have played for an hour or more...spinning and twirling. (And getting totally soaked!) Tomorrow we are going to take a water taxi to the aquarium here...and then on my way back home I have to OF COURSE stop at IKEA (my favorite store!) The only bad thing is...I forgot my camera...what in the world!!!?? So my iphone pictures will have to do for now. This was the super cool exhibit of chairs...this red one was a favorite...but much to pretty to sit on!
Millennium Park!!

If there were only a few more hours in the day...I would be golden. Of course, then I would probably want a few more hours after that too. With that being said...it will be a short and sweet post! Here's another sneak peek of my gallery for August finally!! It's just such a happy little kit we have in store for you!
Ooooh, Heidi Swapp "invisibles" chipboard shapes...too cute! And Kraft Kuts by Fancy Pants...nice! I love every single piece of it! Hope you had a fabulous Thursday!

Mojoless...
Hmmm...for some reason today I just couldn't find my mojo...or my motivation. I have so many things to do as I am heading to Florida for CHA in less than a week and packing my kids up to spend the rest of the summer with their dad. (I think that last thing could have something to do with it! I am going to miss them to pieces!! I'm trying to just soak them up these last few days we have together!) So I have been walking around the scrap table "assessing the situation" but not really getting anything accomplished, if that makes any sense. I got started this afternoon on this little project for my gallery. It turned out pretty cute and will be featured in my gallery this coming month. Here is a peek. You may also remember the before picture...
I'm always trying to think outside of the box when it comes to scrapbooking! This crazy sign bought at the local flea market for $5 has a whole new look now! Tomorrow I'll have another sneak peek to share...so hard not to show you the whole thing! Off to make dinner for the kiddos...hope you had a great day!

Sneaks and a giveaway...
Are there 2 better words than those for a Friday? Both are things I LOVE to do! So as CHA in Orlando is slowly creeping up on me...I am working overtime to get everything in place before the big event! I am sending out the newsletter this afternoon/eveningish (lol) so be checking your inbox for that! I thought I would share a little sneak of the patterned papers in our upcoming August kit. It's full of Prima, Crate Paper, KI Memories, Fancy Pants, Cosmo Cricket, and more! I really love this kit...and think it would work really well for some back-to-school layouts! (I cannot believe it's almost time for that again!) And if you're like me, you have already taken about 4,000 photos this summer! And definitely need some of the latest and greatest to make projects that shine!I am ever so happy to announce another giveaway! One lucky reader will receive this super stylish and cute handbag by AMM. It goes along with the whole black/white trend that is sweeping the fashion industry. I think this tote is perfect for a summery day...and the fact that you can personalize it with your own sweet photos is just an added bonus!
To enter the giveaway...all you need to do is post a comment here telling me what your favorite thing has been this summer. Easy enough right? Good. I will post the winner on Monday! Have a super Friday!

Blisters and wart hogs...
I have been promising the kids I would take them to the new Africa exhibit at our local zoo since it opened last month. Today ended up being the day that worked best so we loaded up and took off for the big adventure. (And can I just say that my kids are finally getting old enough to not have to be attatched to a sippy cup and have to have a stroller to get around...and I am loving it!) One of the things that was cool to see was that there were not just moms/dads and kids walking through, but also several older people just sitting in the shade watching the animals. It made me think that "animal watching" was a very relaxing thing to do....and kind of reminds me of watching the waves crash on the shoreline...I could sit and watch that all day. I also loved hearing not only my kids comment on the exhibits but also the others around us. As we walked in and you could hear the African tribal music playing...Tanner turned to me and whispered "Mom I feel like I really am in Africa!" Mission accomplished. I think the animal he was most fascinated with was some sort of wart hog (I cannot remember the name for the life of me!) we had to go back to see her 3 times! Maybe he was just interested in her piglets? Who knows. Chloe just kept squealing about the zebras all afternoon...and the blisters she was getting on her feet...poor thing. I think my favorites were the rhinos that were chasing each other around. With the giraffes being my second favorite...there weren't any elephants...I mean, how can you call it an African exhibit without elephants? It was still very cool and we enjoyed our time there.
