Happy March! I am totally ready for spring to arrive. It's been a long winter here in the Midwest, but we have a brand new kit to lift us out of those winter doldrums. I'm so excited to introduce you to "Clothespin!" This kit is full of all brand new products from CHA...and some extra special handmade touches.
Wait until you see what the designers came up with this month! We had the privilege of having Jill Sprott (a finalist from our DT call last year) guest design for us this month.

"Hi! My name is Jill Sprott, and I’m so happy to be a guest designer for Freehand Scraps! I live on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, with my husband Rob and my daughter Zoe. My family is my biggest inspiration, and I want my scrapbooks to reflect the love and laughter that is so much a part of our lives. I want my pages to tell a story, but I also want them to convey emotion – and I want them to reflect me, whoever and however I was in the moment that the page was created.

I started scrapbooking over seven years ago out of curiosity, and although it took me a long time to shake off the fear of “messing up,” I kept at it, and I’m glad I did. Robert Frost claimed that poetry is “a way of remembering that which it would impoverish us to forget,” and I feel exactly the same way about scrapbooking."

In other Freehand Scraps news, we have made some changes this month to the site that are worth mentioning here. We will no longer be offering subscriptions on the website, so the only option will be to make a one time purchase. This is a way for me to simplify the way things are run around here, and to simplify the shipping process. Also after 2 years of charging the same flat rate for shipping, I am having to raise the price by $1.00. We of course try to keep our prices as low as possible to pass the savings on to you! If you have any other questions regarding these changes, please feel free to email me at heidi@freehandscraps.com and I would be happy to answer them! The BIG sale is also being extended for the month of March, 40% off of all our past 2008 and 2009 kits, so get them while you can! We want to thank you again for your continued support and for being great customers!

"Clothespin"

I'm so happy to introduce you to our latest kit "Clothespin!" It's beautiful...if I do say so myself! And the gallery this month is equally beautiful, jam-packed with inspiration! You will be blown away...I know I was! It's packed with the latest and greatest finds from CHA.
I made flowers out of vintage sewing patterns for every one's kit. I hope you like them! :)
There are 2 alphabets, word strip chipboard stickers, layered chipboard flowers, a darling fabric banner, and all brand new patterned papers!

And so much more!

At Freehand Scraps we are making a few minor changes starting in March. We aren't going to be offering a subscription option any longer, in an effort to simplify things. We are also raising our flat rate shipping charge by $1.00. We have tried to keep our costs as low as possible, but due to the USPS raising their cost twice, it was necessary! We love our customers and are so very grateful for each and every one of you! Happy March!

Sneak Peeks...again...

Sneak Peeks...

Hi there! Just checking in to share a few sneak peeks! Lexi posted a few to drool over on her blog...and Amanda just posted some cute sneaks today. You lucky readers :)

Cuteness!! Now if someone could please tell me where the month of February has gone I would appreciate it! My goodness, the end of this month always creeps up on me!! Hope your week is going well!

Heart of Gold...

I started this layout about my sister for my gallery, but because of CHA and traveling I didn't have a chance to finish it in time. I put the finishing touches on it last night, and added the journaling. Better late than never right?? This month's kit was just so cute! I took this photo of my sister while we were at a scrapbook event. This was all made with "Long Johns" the only thing I added was the metal title letters by American Crafts from forever ago!
I used my exacto knife to cut out the diamond shapes of the background paper. I think this is the first time I've tried this technique. It was kind of fun. I used the Hambly wood grain paper and wanted it to look kind of like a frame.
The journaling reads: "This girl has a heart of gold...ask anyone she knows and they will tell you."

And this was a little card I whipped up with some of my leftover pieces. That bear sticker is just too fun! The "hello" chipboard piece is by Pebbles Inc.

Seriously...

CUTE! You could do this on my car right now...it's a mess! It just won't stop raining/snowing. You get it clean...and 5 minutes later it's over.
And this is just perfectly perfect.
I have been working on a few projects that I'll be back and share tomorrow! Hope you had a great start to your week!
