Gallery...

This is the first chance I am getting to post my layouts from the gallery this month with details on how I made them. I get so many emails with questions of how and what was used and what kind of adhesive works best etc, etc. So here is the first. I used the green striped paper and backed it with the chocolate brown cardstock with a small piece of the sheer delight scalloped edge sticking out on the bottom right corner. I liked that the brown paper made it stand out a little better. I added one of the Colorbok embossed photo corners to the right hand corner. Easy!

This is a little collage of bits and pieces of the kit. The circle stamp in the background is by Pink Paislee. The "Lucky You" piece is actually from the packaging on the Colorbok photo corners. Love that it even has glitter detailing on it. Fun!
And lastly was the super cute transparency pumpkin by Fancy Pants. All I did was add buttons to embellish his eyes and make them stand out a little more, and then add my title to his jack-o-lantern smile. Because there is glitter detailing and color, I was able to strategically place my glue dots behind these elements so that they wouldn't show through the transparency.
Another great thing about this kit, is that you really can use it for anything. I loved it with the Halloween theme, but for this layout, I used a picture of my daughter swimming last summer. The patterned paper reminded me of waves, and I thought that would be perfect for a page about water! To create the border around the page, I cut up some of the embossed photo corners and staggered the colors, and patterns to look very eclectic. Then I took my tiny hole punch and punched holes in each end of the small strips and simply took embroidery thread and laced it through. NO needle required. Simple and quick.
Here's a close up of some of it...I used a spool of embroidery thread that changed color from red to hot pink, to light pink. I thought it added another little interesting detail. I love these American Crafts adhesive badges (they are already self adhesive for you!) they remind me of days gone by when we wore little badges on our jean jackets. The one with the ladybug just fit perfect on this page, and they all coordinate so well together! Lastly I popped my picture off the page with pop dots, or foam squares to make it level with the badges. I seem to not be able to make anything without my foam squares these days. I love the dimension it gives layouts.
I will share more from my gallery this week.

I have been busy getting everyone's kits in the mail to them! If your subscription payment has gone through or you have made a purchase in the last 3 days...your October kit is well on it's way to your front door! Yea! Hope you have a wonderful night!
